What are SHRM Professional Development Credits?

The Society of Human Resources (SHRM) offers Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) and Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) certifications. These certifications are often crucial for HR Managers and other Human Resources professionals to advance their careers and gain promotions.

WR Immigration webinars provide clients with 1 Professional Development Credit for each accredited presentation they attend. If you are looking for professional credits to count towards your re-certification, we invite you to attend our webinar.

How does M&A impact business immigration strategy?

As companies adapt to a radically different post-pandemic world, a merger and acquisition wave is sweeping across several sectors. Life Sciences is one of the most active industries, driven by new outlooks in drug discovery, collaboration, and global efficiencies. For HR and foreign-born employees, mergers can come loaded with complexities and pitfalls that are often not addressed during the planning stages. Strategies may be laid out for roles, office locations, and cultural integration, but immigration factors that directly impact the organization are often overlooked. This can result in key employees being put in untenable positions. They may need to obtain a new visa, be relocated, or worse yet – have no options to remain employed by the acquiring company. Forethought and planning can help prevent this one piece of the puzzle from contributing to an already challenging environment. In preparation for a merger, HR […]

Chatting with Charlie: August Visa Bulletin Update

During our May and June webinars Charlie predicted many of the retrogressions which have occurred for August’s visa bulletin update. Below we will summarize the August Visa Bulletin for both Employment-Based and Family-Based schedules. Please register here to join us on August 23 @ 11am PT for our next live Chatting with Charlie. The All Chargeability EB-2 Final Action Date advanced which is a positive sign, but the forward movement is not enough to provide any encouragement for the future availability of “Otherwise Unused” numbers becoming available for use by India EB-2 applicants.  The fact that the All Chargeability EB-3 date has retrogressed for the third time in four months is a troubling sign for visa availability during FY 2024, and this situation will need to be watched carefully. Both the China EB-2 and EB-3 Final Action and Application Filing Dates have advanced which is a very good […]
