Global Travel Advisory:  Where Can Americans Travel?

WR maintains a Global Travel Advisory for American travelers on our COVID-19 Resource page.  Due to the evolving and unpredictable nature of the global pandemic, please be advised that COVID-19 related travel restrictions and procedures change frequently.  The following information does not constitute legal advice and is subject to change at the local and national level at any time.  For global immigration advice, please schedule a consultation with WR’s Global Immigration Director, Vivian Zhu.


  • No test results required, but expect a health screening
  • No quarantine required
  • No movement restrictions
  • Face masks required in public
  • Restaurants and cafes are open


  • 14-day quarantine or must submit to COVID-19 test upon arrival


  • Limited entry permitted. American visitors can apply for entry into Anguilla using the Visitor Application Form. An electronic travel authorization will be issued to email address if the application is successful.
  • Negative COVID test within 3-5 days of arrival is required; travelers will also be tested on the 10th day of their visit (if applicable).
  • Proof of health insurance required
  • Quarantine of at least 10 days at government approved facility.

Antigua and Barbuda

  • Negative COVID-19 test no more than 7 days prior to flight required
  • Curfew in effect from 11 pm to 5 am through October 31
  • Interstate travel restrictions in place
  • Mask required in all public spaces


  • Travelers from the following US states must submit a negative COVID-19 test 72 hours before their flight. Test results must be uploaded online at least 12 hours before departure: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Nevada, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Carolina, South Dakota. Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.
  • Travelers from states not listed above can also choose to pre-pay for a test to be completed upon arrival.
  • Health insurance required
  • Curfew in place from 12 midnight to 5 am


  • Travel Health Visa Application and negative COVID-19 test required
  • Mandatory 14-day quarantine
  • Year-long visa offered to remote workers


  • COVID-19 test 72 hours prior to travel required
  • Mandatory 14-day quarantine


  • Travelers must take a COVID-19 test 72 hours prior to departure and present the negative results at the airport.
  • Quarantine required at a designated holding hotel or government facility
  • Masks required at airport. Also expect health screenings


  • Covid-19 test & quarantine not required
  • Health screenings in place at the airports


  • Entry via airports permitted
  • COVID-19 test not required
  • Must submit proof of health insurance for the entire period of the trip with minimum coverage of 30,000 Brazilian reais


  • Must show a negative COVID-19 test no more than 7 days prior to departure
  • Must fill out travel authorization online and pay a $75 fee
  • Travelers will also be tested upon arrival and must quarantine at their hotel until results are available.
  • Travelers are tested every few days while in country.
  • Travelers must perform temperature checks twice per day and report results online. Restaurants and beaches are open with social distancing requirements.


  • $2,000 travel deposit required before entering the country; if a traveler tests negative for COVID-19, they will only pay $165 (the amount of the test itself).
  • Must show a negative COVID-19 test taken no more than 72 hours from departure
  • Purchase a local health insurance package
  • Travelers will also be tested upon arrival and must quarantine until results are available. If a passenger on an arriving flights tests positive for COVID-19, all passengers must quarantine for 14 days at a location determined by Cambodian authorities.


  • Eligible American foreign workers,  immediate family members of a Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident, and persons registered under Canada’s Indian Act can travel to Canada.
  • Immediate family members of a Canadian citizen or permanent resident must be staying in Canada for at least 15 days.
  • All other foreign nationals must be traveling for essential (non-discretionary, non-optional) purposes; standard is high. In addition, they must be traveling directly from the US or exempt from the travel restrictions.
  • Mandatory COVID-19 screening at port of entry and 14-day quarantine plan.

Costa Rica

  • As of September 1, residents from New York, New Jersey, Maine, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Vermont, Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia may enter Costa Rica on flights departing from the United States.
  • As of September 15, residents of Colorado, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Montana, Wyoming, Washington, Oregon, Arizona, Wyoming, New Mexico, Michigan, and Rhode Island can also enter Costa Rica on flights departing from the United States.
  • Residents of California will be able to enter Costa Rica as of October 1.
  • S. citizen tourists from these states wishing to enter Costa Rica must complete a digital epidemiological health pass, obtain a negative PCR-RT coronavirus test taken within 72 hours of their departure from the United States, and purchase travel insurance that covers accommodation in case of quarantine and medical expenses due to COVID-19.  U.S. tourist must also demonstrate, via a valid driver’s license or State ID card, that they live in one of the authorized states.
  • U.S. Citizens from any state who meet Ministry of Health criteria are able to enter Costa Rica on commercial flights from designated international flight departure points, which currently include Frankfurt, Germany and Madrid, Spain.  However, they must demonstrate they have remained at that designated departure point for 14 days prior to their flight.
  • Negative COVID-19 test required


  • Must show proof of a hotel reservation or other accommodation
  • No quarantine required if a negative COVID-19 test no older than 48 hours from departure is presented.
  • Must fill out entry form online.

Dominican Republic  

  • Travelers must submit an online health questionnaire at least 24 hours prior to arrival
  • Rapid Covid-19 tests are performed on randomly selected travelers.


  • No quarantine is required if a negative COVID-19 test taken no more than 10 days before arrival can be presented and traveler is symptom free upon arrival.
  • If a traveler does not have a negative test, then they can be tested upon arrival and must quarantine at their hotel until results are available.


  • Negative COVID-19 test not required
  • Mandatory 14-day quarantine

French Polynesia

  • Must show negative COVID-19 test result no older than 72 hours from departure
  • Travelers must have a travel insurance policy
  • Travelers must perform a self-sampling surveillance test on the 4th day of their stay.


  • Accra Kotoka International Airport reopened for regular international passenger travel on September 1, 2020. Ghana’s land and sea borders remain closed.
  • Negative COVID-19 test required for entry
  • Upon arrival, each traveler age five and over must undergo a COVID-19 test conducted at the airport. The test carries a $150 fee per person. Each traveler must pay the fee online at present proof of payment to the airline prior to boarding.
  • No mandatory quarantine


  • International airport in Port-au-Prince remains open
  • Must self-declare COVID-19 health status
  • Mandatory 14-day quarantine


  • Negative COVID-19 test and mandatory quarantine required
  • Curfew and interstate travel restrictions are in place


  • Covid-19 test not required
  • Restrictions on movement and 14 day self-isolation


  • Must request a travel authorization and upload proof of a negative PCR test
  • Mandatory 14 day quarantine
  • Curfew in place


  • Arriving U.S. passengers are permitted to enter if the conditions are met: 1) The passenger does not have a body temperature above 37.5°C (99.5°F); 2) The passenger does not have a persistent cough, difficulty breathing or other flu-like symptoms; 3) The passenger has a negative PCR-based COVID-19 test conducted within 96 hours of arrival.
  • No mandatory quarantine


  • No negative test results required; random testing done at airports.
  • Travelers with no COVID-19 symptoms do not have to quarantine
  • Must have confirmed booking before arrival
  • Must submit online health declaration within 24 hours of departure


  • No COVID-19 test required
  • No quarantine required
  • Indoor bars and restaurants are open.


  • Non-essential travel through land border between the United States and Mexico remains closed through October 21.
  • Travel to Mexico via airports is permitted
  • Travelers should expect temperature checks and other screenings upon arrival.


  • Travel permitted with negative PCR test for novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) not older than 72 hours or a positive coronavirus antibody test result (SARS-CoV-2) of the IgG class obtained by ELISA serologic testnot older than 72 hours.
  • No mandatory quarantine


  • S. citizens must present a negative COVID-19 PCR test result taken no more than 72 hours before entering Namibia.
  • No mandatory quarantine


  • Must present proof of negative COVID-19 test taken no more than 120 hours before flight
  • Must quarantine for 24 hours in a hotel and undergo a 2nd test. If 2nd test is negative, traveler can leave quarantine. Must fill out passenger locator form
  • Must test negative before leaving Rwanda
  • Nightly curfew in effect; restrictions on interstate travel.
  • Restaurants, hotels, and shops open to visitors with a negative COVID-19 test

Saint Lucia

  • Must have negative COVID-19 test within 7 days of arrival
  • Must complete pre-arrival registration form
  • Must undergo temperature check upon arrival

Saint Vincent & the Grenadines

  • Must complete pre-arrival form online
  • Must show negative COVID-19 test within 5 days of arrival or undergo a test upon arrival
  • Must be retested upon arrival and remain in quarantine until test results are processed.


  • Covid-19 health monitoring required
  • Screening required when entering through certain border countries.
  • Masks required in all indoor locations as well as outdoors when social distancing is not feasible
  • Ban on public gatherings of more than 10 people

South Korea

  • A negative COVID-19 test (PCR and/or serology) required for entry depending on point of departure, visa status, nationality, and other factors. Generally speaking, U.S. citizens traveling to Korea from the United States as tourists on the 90-day visa-waiver program do not need a COVID-19 test prior to travel but will be tested upon arrival in Korea and may be subject to quarantine in government facilities at their own expense.
  • Mandatory 14 day quarantine


  • Negative Covid-19 test required for entry.
  • Travelers must fill out a health surveillance form on flight.
  • No quarantine required.


  • No COVID-19 test/quarantine required unless you show symptoms
  • Travelers must undergo a temperature check upon arrival.
  • Masks must be worn in public areas
  • Must have medical insurance
  • Must complete a health screening questionnaire
  • Retail business and restaurants are open.

United Arab Emirates

  • (Dubai) Must download and register using city’s COVID-19 DXB app
  • Must arrive with a negative COVID-19 test no more than 4 days old or get tested upon arrival
  • Mandatory quarantine
  • Travelers arriving into Abu Dhabi are required to wear a GPS bracelet for 14 days
  • Restaurants are open with restrictions

United Kingdom

  • No tourist visa needed for visits less than 6 months
  • No COVID-19 testing required
  • Mandatory 14-day quarantine


  • No screening required; no mandatory 14 day quarantine.
