Richard Yemm, a partner at the Los Angeles office, is a certified Immigration and Nationality Law Specialist by the California State Bar and is licensed to practice law in both California and New York. As an experienced immigration attorney, Richard’s personal journey as an immigrant from the United Kingdom allows him to bring a unique perspective to his role.
Graduating with honors from the prestigious University of Exeter School of Law in the UK, Richard has developed expertise in handling various immigration matters such as nonimmigrant visas (H-1B, L-1, O-1), immigrant visas (EB-1, EB-2, EB-3), family-based immigration, and applications for U.S. citizenship. He also provides guidance on corporate I-9 compliance audits and employment-based immigration.
Richard has successfully represented a diverse array of clients, including Fortune 500 companies, major entertainment organizations, and high-profile individuals in the technology and other industries. His ability to navigate complex immigration issues for these clients showcases his expertise and commitment to excellence.
As a recognized thought leader in immigration law, Richard has authored articles, delivered presentations at conferences, and participated in expert panels to share his knowledge with both peers and clients. His exceptional work in Immigration Law has not only earned him a place in both the 2023 and 2024 editions of The Best Lawyers in America®, but also led to his selection for the Rising Stars distinction consecutively from 2013 to 2024.
Richard’s previous roles include serving on the CBP National Committee and the CBP Liaison Committee for the Southern California Chapter of AILA. Currently, he serves on the Board for the British American Business Council (BABC) Los Angeles and holds leadership positions within WR Immigration’s Innovation Committee and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee.
Outside of his legal practice, Richard is passionate about soccer, though he still fondly refers to it as “football” from his days in the UK. A dedicated Arsenal supporter, Richard’s love for the sport adds a personal touch to his professional life. He also takes pleasure in exploring the great outdoors, going on hiking adventures to unwind and recharge.
