Richard Yemm is a Partner at WR Immigration and a Certified Specialist in Immigration and Nationality Law by the State Bar of California. He advises leading entertainment, technology, and multinational companies on U.S. corporate immigration strategy, helping employers recruit, retain, and mobilize international talent.

Richard works closely with HR leaders, in-house counsel, and business executives to develop practical immigration solutions aligned with their broader business objectives. His practice spans employer-sponsored nonimmigrant and immigrant visas, including H-1B, L-1, O-1, and employment-based green card matters, as well as immigration compliance and corporate I-9 issues.

Having represented major entertainment organizations, technology companies, and businesses across a range of industries, Richard understands the operational challenges employers face in managing immigration programs. His approach combines sophisticated immigration technology and processes with direct strategic oversight and accountability, helping clients navigate complex requirements while maintaining efficiency and transparency.

Originally from the United Kingdom, Richard graduated with honors from the University of Exeter School of Law and is licensed to practice in California and New York. His own experience as an immigrant provides an additional perspective on the challenges faced by international employees and their employers.

Richard regularly speaks and writes on immigration law and policy, particularly developments affecting U.S. employers. His publications include a chapter in the American Immigration Lawyers Association’s U.S. Citizenship and Naturalization Law Toolbox, updated for its second edition in 2026. He has been recognized by The Best Lawyers in America and Super Lawyers Rising Stars.

Richard serves on the Board of the British American Business Council Los Angeles, chairs WR Immigration’s Innovation Committee, and co-chairs the firm’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee. He has also served on national and regional committees of the American Immigration Lawyers Association.

Outside his legal practice, Richard enjoys hiking and following Arsenal Football Club, maintaining his British preference for calling soccer “football.”
