Lorie Lunn has been practicing in the area of business immigration for 15 years.  In her current practice, Lorie leverages her prior experience working within a large organization to assist corporate clients to develop, scale, train internal staff, and maintain a strong and efficient business immigration function.  This support may include consulting with organizations to support strategic business initiatives, identifying immigration impact or triggers and then providing recommendations to leadership to support business decisions at the highest levels.  She also has extensive experience developing and implementing an external immigration representation structure that is customized to fit an organization’s specific business needs and is able to provide innovative solutions to address evolving business models.

Lorie has experience representing organizations of all sizes, from start-ups, to nonprofits, to multinational corporations, and in many sectors including IT, financial services, biotech, civil and industrial engineering, education, medicine, animal welfare, and economic research. Lorie has also been involved in developing the Firm’s Global Practice Area which provides global immigration services through a vetted, domestic and global network of service providers.

Prior to joining the firm, Lorie served as Director of International Services for a top tier University and Medical Center and oversaw business immigration matters for that organization which at the time employed more than 27,000 faculty and staff.  During her tenure, Lorie developed and grew the institution’s business immigration function. She understands the complexity and challenges of enforcing compliance within a large, heavily-regulated organization where business decisions are made across all areas of the organization on a daily basis, many of which trigger requirements related to immigration. In addition to organizational compliance experience, Lorie also gained comprehensive experience in the complexities of advising and obtaining employment authorization for international researchers, faculty, physicians, nurses, and other diverse staff.

Lorie is a member of the Massachusetts Bar and an inactive member of the Oregon Bar.  Lorie is a graduate from the Northwestern School of Law of Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon.  She received a B.A. in Anthropology from the University of Tennessee and spent a year of her undergraduate program living and studying in Wales.  During law school, Lorie was a recipient of a Lewis & Clark Public Interest Law Program stipend and clerked with the Native American Program for Oregon Legal Aid Services.  She also worked in land-use permitting for a global engineering firm. Lorie was selected to be included in Best Lawyers in America in 2019 and 2023, and is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA).

Lorie has a wealth of interests that she has studied, practiced and continues to develop.  She has studied music since age five and continues to sing informally with family and friends.  She loves gardening, hiking, art, and photography.
